William Edward Elton

Mr. William "Bill" Edward Elton passed away due to complications from cancer on May 6, 2012, at his home in Port Angeles.

Bill was born May 3, 1935, in Yakima, Washington, to R.W. and Ethelda Elton.

A 1953 graduate of Toppenish High School, Bill married Sharyn Harsh on June 30, 1955, in Toppenish, Washington.

Bill and Sharyn farmed in the Toppenish area for six years and moved to Port Angeles in 1961. Bill worked at the Rayonier pulp mill until his retirement. They raised their three children on the family farm outside Port Angeles.

He dedicated his life to Christ at 15 years of age and was an active member of Bethany Pentecostal Church for more than 30 years.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sharyn; daughters Ronna (Gary) Richmond and Penny (Mark) Dalan; son Joe Elton; grandchildren Stacy (Brian) Tucker, Tyrone (Sierra) Brown, Candy (John) Seelye, Justin Brown, Ashley (Byron) Woolsey, Rachelle (Paul) Mellick, Rick Dalan, Shari Dalan, Lacey (Grant) Keeton and Derrick (Mia) Elton; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Margaret Potter in Yakima; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today, May 10, at Bethany Pentecostal Church, 508 South Francis Street in Port Angeles. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. at Mount Angeles Memorial Park, 45 South Monroe Road in Port Angeles.
