Cathi was born to William and Patricia Mashburn in Pasadena, California, on Nov. 23, 1957.
She was married to Robert Earl Pence in 1976 and they divorced in 1989.
She did various office work for most of her life and was always known for her diligence and commitment to her work.
She was active in the Narcotics Anonymous community after her own recovery with drugs, and was always there for anyone who needed help. She also served in the local jail, using her past to empathize with many of the women there, helping them find direction in their lives.
What she will be remembered for most is her great sense of humor that helped her to smile and laugh her way though any situation.
Her wonderful attitude carried her through even when she was diagnosed with brain cancer about a month prior to her death. She went home to be with the Lord at the age of 49 after she suffered from a perforated intestine that the doctors were unable to operate on because of the cancer.
She passed on very peacefully with her loved ones by her side at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles.
She was a proud mother and even prouder grandmother, and was fortunately able to spend a wonderful 15 months getting to know her granddaughter, Breanna.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ruth Mollinet, son-in-law, John Carl Mollinet, and granddaughter, Breanna Belle Mollinet, of Sequim.
Also survived by sisters, Connie and Chrisi and seven nieces and nephews of Bakersfield, California; her Uncle Warren and Aunt Mickey Graham of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and stepmother Connie Mashburn of Sevierville, Tennessee.
A memorial service will be held at Olympic Vineyard Church in Port Angeles on Monday July 23, at 6 p.m.
