Thankyou Alberta for all that you have done protecting whales, in particular The Californian Gray Whale. You will be missed and your legend will inspire many to follow your example.

As a fully committed Sea Shepherd supporter I have just read the tribute to Alberta Nora Thompson on their website. I would like to thank Alberta for all her hard work and for taking a stand to protect whales. She was quite obviously an incredible lady and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Please take some comfort from the fact that she was able to make a difference and she is now in a better place. I certainly wish I was able to make as much impact against whaling as this special lady was able to.
God bless you and thank you.

Binki is my heroine and has been my inspiration for decades. Though many thought otherwise, she led instead of followed. Her humility hid her power. With her smile and good nature, she was more than the issues she campaigned for. Nearly everyone saw her goodness and compassion, her love for her family and community—and the rest of Creation. And yes, she questioned authority wherever she saw injustice.
Binki touched the lives of many people—millions when you include those who saw and read about her in the news media. And of course, the gray whales sent more than one emissary to her small whale-watching vessel in Neah Bay and Baja, Mexico. On more than one occasion, I saw the whales go straight to where she was on the boat. She cried as she reached out and touched him. Now we shed tears for you Binki because you touched us. We will never forget you.
