Connie was born in Pierre, South Dakota, on August 26, 1921, to Lyle and Margrete Moulton. She graduated from high school in Pierre and attended Mitchell Business College in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Mrs. McManis was an executive secretary by occupation. During her lifetime, she worked for Mobile Oil in Aberdeen, South Dakota; for the commanding officer at the Army airbase in Pierre during World War II; and for the president of Malwin of California in Pomona for 10 years. To many, Connie was a very special person. She was always thinking of others, generous to a fault and devoted to her family, friends, church and special causes. The good that she has done for others is immeasurable. She always felt blessed to have such wonderful friends and neighbors.
Connie was also a person of strong opinions and many interests. She was an ardent Los Angeles Dodgers baseball fan since the 1950s and loved to watch golf games on television. She also enjoyed dining out, attending parties and playing games such as Scrabble or pinochle. She loved animals and had pets her whole life. It was a great joy to her to feed the wildlife around her pond. Connie lived a very active and busy life and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. McManis was a devoted member of the Queen of Angels Church in Port Angeles. She was also a member of the Legion of Mary since 1976 and visited the homebound parish members weekly with communion and prayers.
She and her husband were instrumental in forming support groups for the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill on both the state and local levels. She continued to be very active in this ministry locally.
Mrs. McManis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; and her brother, Calvin Moulton.
