Alvin Richard
Delo
Jan 23, 1946 — Oct 13, 2023
Port Angeles
Alvin Richard Delo, 77, passed away on October 13, 2023 at OMC in Port Angeles, WA. Alvin was born on January 23, 1946 to Roy Alvin Delo and Catherine Leona Meis.
He was a devoted husband to Eva Delo of Port Angeles for nineteen years, and together they shared a deep love for camping, hunting, and fishing.
In his career, Al worked in logging and timber in Port Angeles and southeast Alaska from 1960 until he was injured in Alaska.
Al was a true outdoorsman, finding solace in the great outdoors. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, and his love for these activities brought him great joy throughout his life. He was also a dedicated member of the Moose Lodge since 1987. He loved to watch the Seahawks.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Eva; daughter-in-law, Sonya Grahl; sisters, Leona Standberg and husband Darold of Saint Helens, OR, and Midge of Port Angeles; niece, Shelli, and husband Marc; nephew, Jeff, and wife Hilda; sister-in-law, Patty Brown of Maple, WA; and brother-in-law, Benny and Richard Burton of Metlakatla, AK. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Alvin Delo, and mother, Catherine Leone Meis.
A celebration of Al's life will be held at the Moose Lodge in the summer.
Eva would like to thank the OMC doctors and nurses, especially through the two years of cancer treatments, Volunteer Hospice and Home Health Team. She would also like to thank those who sent sympathy cards and for the phone calls. "Thank you to our neighbors, friends and family that helped us through this troubling time of cancer. Thank you to our Moose friends who gave us fish, crab and deer meat when Al could no longer fish and hunt. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
