Carol Ruth
Rand
Aug 25, 1948 — Aug 19, 2026
Carol Ruth Roswall Rand was Promoted to Glory on August 19, 2026, in Sequim, WA. She was born on August 25, 1948, in Seattle, WA, to Majors Esther and Mauritz Roswall, Salvation Army officers (pastors) in the Scandinavian Division. The family was active in Swedish-American culture. As her parents served in various Salvation Army appointments, Carol lived in Seattle, Olympia, Portland, Coos Bay, and Eureka, California.
After transferring from Humboldt State University to Seattle Pacific College, Carol earned a B.A. in sociology with a minor in music in 1972. She met Garold Rand while attending Ballard Free Methodist Church. They married and moved to Sekiu, WA. In 1977, the Rands moved into their home in Forks.
Many knew Carol as an Avon representative. She later worked as a pharmacy technician at Forks Hospital. Carol had many pets throughout her lifetime and especially loved her cats and dogs. She and Garold were proud Friends of the Forks Animal Shelter.
Carol loved God and was faithful to her calling to serve the church through the gift of music. She served for decades as the pianist at Forks Bible Church. The church was much more than a place of worship to Carol and her family; it was an extended family and a community of lifelong friendships that remained an important part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garold. She leaves behind her son and daughter, Bramwell and Rev. Evangeline Rand; daughter-in-law Aimee; sister-in-law Sharon; and two grandsons, Noah and Kai
