We are saddened to announce the passing of Donn Grimsley (aka. Papa Grim, Big Donn, Dynamite Donn), who peacefully left us on May 8th, 2024 in Port Angeles, Washington. Born on October 12, 1964, Donn was the youngest son of Richard and Karen Grimsley.

Donn was a loving husband to Joan Grimsley, whom he married in 1989. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Tyler Grimsley (married to Rikki Grimsley) and Tarren Grimsley.  Donn grew up with 3 older siblings, Craig Ranta (married to Krista Ranta), Marci Grimsley (partner Janet Jaeger), and Rick Grimsley. Donn took great pride in his family and cherished every moment spent with them. Donn was a huge lover of animals, specifically his pound puppy Riley Grimsley.

Donn was a proud graduate of Port Angeles High School, class of 1982. He dedicated his years to building his business, Strait Alignment and Brake, from the ground up. It was here that he showcased his skill and expertise in the automotive industry, but also his amazing customer service skills. His generosity and kindness were often revered by his loyal customers.

Donn had a zest for life and enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including motorsports (drag & drift Racing), camping, boating, crabbing, and cheering on the Seahawks. His friends and family were always amazed by his talent as a world-class baker, constantly impressing them with his Chex Mix and blackberry pie.

Despite his cancer diagnosis, Donn faced his illness with courage and a positive attitude. He will be remembered for his warm heart, infectious laughter, ability to ride a wheelie, and unwavering love for his family.

Donn Grimsley may have left this world, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Donn.

A Celebration of life will be held on May 16th at the Port Angeles ELKS Naval Lodge from 4:30pm – 6:30pm.
