Port Angeles
Fredrick Arthur Clemens I ~ August 31, 1941 - October 21, 2022
Fredrick (Fritz) left us too soon, after a short battle with cancer, to join his sister (Rita), parents and other deceased friends and family in heaven.
Fritz was born in Goshen, Indiana to Leonard A. and Verna (Fisher) Clemens. He graduated from Goshen High School and then attended Goshen College, The University of Iowa and Purdue University. He became a control system engineer.
Fritz and Patricia Schrock were married in Goshen in January of 1960. Their children Rebecca (Alan) Keith, Fredrick II (Shana) Anton (April), and Andrew (Melissa) all survive him. Beloved grandchildren are Alec Keith, Aidan Keith, Samuel Keith, Juliet Clemens, Todd Clemens, Joseph Clemens, Benjamin Clemens, Cayden Carmen, and Kinsley Clemens. His brother Eugene also survives him.
Fritz found great satisfaction in his career as a professional engineer. He worked in six states and two foreign countries in the mining, petroleum, and water treatment industries.
After retiring in Port Angeles in 1985 he obtained a Coast Guard Captain's license and found great joy operating boats for Arrow Launch Service.
And who can forget his great sense of humor and silly jokes?
But Fredrick's greatest joy was found in the Lord, Jesus so he was active in church wherever they lived.
His wife and family also remember his great love and care for each one of them. We feel we had the best, most loving husband and father - not always perfect - but always forgiving and forgiven.
Fritz also served in foreign missions in Riga, Latvia with the Lutheran Hour Radio; and on the Mercy ships in Honduras, Belize, and Mexico.
Friends and family are invited to St. Matthew Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5 for a service with reception afterward. Please bring memories to share at the reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Drennan & Ford Funeral Home in Port Angeles is entrusted with his arrangements. Please sign the online guestbook for his family at www.drennanford.com .
