Obituary

Joe Tweter, a loving husband, devoted father, and lifelong resident of Port Angeles, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 8, 2025, at the age of 87.

Joe was born on January 5, 1938, in Port Angeles, Washington, to Joan and Arnold Tweter. He was raised on the East Arnette family farm on Monroe Road, growing up alongside his five beloved siblings.

A proud graduate of Port Angeles High School in 1956, Joe married his lifetime sweetheart, Gloria Ann Spencer, in 1957. Their loving partnership lasted an extraordinary 68 years.

Joe was a highly respected and honest businessman. After perfecting his trade as a craftsman carpenter, he established his own business, Ked-Ter Construction, building beautiful custom homes throughout the area. He retired in 2004, selling his successful business to his long-time employee and bonus son, Rick Bradley. Joe was known for his honesty, hard work, and his good humor; a combination that helped his business thrive and continues to this day.

A hard-working man who "played hard as well," Joe's greatest joy was his family. He loved golf, camping, and most of all, simply spending time with his friends and family. Joe never missed an opportunity to express his love, often telling his family and friends what a lucky man he was, frequently declaring, "I am the luckiest man in the world." His family and friends will deeply miss his warm chuckle and his signature greeting, "Hiiii there!"

He lived a good life and touched the lives of many. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, honesty, and deep love.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Gloria Ann Tweter; his children, Shelley Adams (husband Randy), John Tweter (wife Shelly) and Casi Fors (husband Duffy), all of Port Angeles; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings, twin sister Jean Packer (husband Darold) of Port Angeles, sister Judy Callarman (husband Lee) of Yakima, WA, brother Dan Tweter of Anchorage Alaska, and youngest brother David Tweter (wife Lisa) Whidbey Island.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joan and Arnold Tweter, and his oldest brother, George Tweter (wife Mich).

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Field Arts & Events Hall on Saturday, October 25th, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
