Obituary

John Michael Baar of Port Angeles, Washington, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the age of 63.

John was born in Port Angeles on October 13th, 1957 to Donald & Jaqlyn [Laney] Baar. He was a Washington resident all his life, most of which was in the Port Angeles area. John was that guy who would do anything for you. He was one of the most dedicated and good-hearted guys, and he always had a smile, even when things turned upside down. He had an unforgettable and contagious laugh. It was an honor to call him a friend.

At the age of 18, his Stepfather Al Freeman helped John get his first job at Pen Ply. After a season working at Crystal Mountain Resort, John worked for Pen-Ply and then for Larry's Roofing for 30+ years. John was bulletproof, he never called in sick and was the kind of employee bosses always wished for.

John met the love of his life in 1997, Melissa Ann [Wilson] Roberts and they were married not long after, making their home in Port Angeles. John is survived by his wife Melissa, and 3 sons: Tyson Baar, Matt Roberts, Kenny Roberts, and 3 grandchildren, Hailey, Payten and Matthew,

John was a devoted, hardworking hero to the Olympic Peninsula Motorcycle Club and the Hurricane Hill Annual Hill Climb for decades. His support and conviction to the motorcycle sports will be sorely missed by many. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed skiing and snowboarding at Hurricane Ridge and spending time with family.
