Obituary

Lois Pflugrad was born to Francis Roy Jenness and Verna Luella McCorkel. Lois, of Port Angeles, Washington passed away on December 6, 2021 at the age of 93. Her memorial/celebration-of-life service will be held January 8, 2022 starting at 5 p.m. at the Port Angeles Seventh-day Adventist Church, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. Her ashes are buried next to her son Chalkie in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Washta, Iowa.

Lois was born September 8, 1928, in a farm house at Archer, Iowa. She got married at the age of 16 to Charles Edward (Chalk) Moore and moved out on a farm. She had seven kids with Chalk before they divorced. She later married Reggie Boyd and then divorced him after a few years. She then married Willard "Willie" Pflugrad and divorced him after a few years.

Lois believed in God. In the early years with her family she periodically attended a Methodist Church. In 1965, Lois became a Seventh-day Adventist Christian and remained a dedicated believer in Christ the rest of her life.

Lois is survived by her sons, Gilbert Moore (wife Katie) of Kansas City, Kansas; and Jerry Moore (wife Marlene) of Port Angeles, Wa; and her daughters Evelyn Moore of Astoria, Oregon; Gail Loewen (husband Dennis) of Topeka, Kansas; Janet Morton (husband Bill) of Everett, Wa; and Dorothy James of Columbus, Ohio; grandsons and granddaughters Jeff Moore, Jolene Moore, Lichelle Crevison, Charley Moore, Zachary Stambaugh, Andrew Stambaugh, Benjamin Stambaugh, Jesse Loewen, Luke Loewen, Jenny Loewen, William Morton, Jennifer Morton, Crystal Morton, Rocky James, Derick James, and Ashley James; nineteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her eldest son Charles Earl (Chalkie) Moore.

Lois lived in a variety of places in the following order: Archer, Iowa; Washta, Iowa; Camp LeJuene, North Carolina; Big Lake, Minnesota; Alta, Iowa; Cherokee, Iowa; Globe, Arizona; Cortez, Colorado; Greybull, Cody, Powell and Casper, Wyoming; Lincoln, Nebraska; College Place, Washington; Pendleton, Oregon; Yakima, Washington; Shawnee, Kansas; and Port Angeles, Washington.

Lois' employment history included being a cafe waitress, working on a 2,000 head chicken farm in Big Lake, Minnesota, literature evangelist for the SDA church, line worker at a furniture mill, food preparation in a dietary department of a hospital, mail clerk and PB operator for an insurance company.
