Mary Sandra
Lauderback
Jul 9, 1939 — Jan 24, 2022
Port Angeles
On Monday January 24, 2022 our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother Mary Sandra Lauderback passed away with peace and grace surrounded by her family at the age of 82.
She was born July 9th, 1939 in Port Angeles, WA to Byers and Josephine "Toni" Dorathy Williams and is an honored elder of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe.
Mary's pleasant, loving and happy personality was a joy to everyone she came across. Mary is survived by husband Eugene Lauderback, her sisters (brother-in-law) Verna Henderson, Karen (Conrad) Johnson and Roberta "Birdie" Kimberly. Her 6 children; sons (daughters-in-law) Keith (Charlene) Lauderback, Steve (Veda) Lauderback. Daughters (son-in-laws) Dena (Moto) Spencer, Gloria (Mike) Jones, Sher (Lisa) Lauderback and Georgia Lauderback. Her 14 grandchildren Dustin, Colie, Ashley, Delsen, Skylar, Brittany, Jordynn, Taylor, Steven, Sage, Michael, Andie, Bryce and Emily. Her 6 great-grandchildren Zoey, Azalynn, Neah, Avalyn, Nolan and Dean. She was preceded in death by her mother Josephine "Toni" Dorathy Williams, father Byers Williams, Brothers Dale, Reggie & Greg Williams, Sister Betty Gilley and sister Carol "Moose" Johnson.
Those close to Mary knew she loved her bingo and going to casinos as she was a perpetually fortunate person blessed with good luck. Luck that she would bring with her on her road trips to Reno. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Mary as she had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. She was fond of Hummingbirds that came to her feeders, doing crosswords, hitting garage sales, enjoying Mariner games with her loving husband and watching game shows. However, nothing could match the love Mary had for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love for them was unmatched and will forever live on with them.
Many children grew up calling Mary "grandma" as her door was always open to all the children in her community. Many children walked through her door to a loving embrace from Mary often leaving with goodies and a heart full of love. Mary's heart was pure and giving, a heart she poured into her work as a para educator / Native American advisor throughout the Port Angeles School District.
Mary had a knack for cooking and creating recipes that are often recreated in the kitchen of her children and grandchildren. Her famous award winning dessert "Grams Dessert" will forever be enjoyed by family during thanksgiving and Christmas. Mary's food always left your belly full and heart happy.
Mary will be laid to rest with a graveside memorial service at Place Rd Cemetery on Thursday February 3rd , 2022 at 10 AM.
