Obituary

On August 18, 2020 a bright light in our lives went out. After courageously battling for 40 years with a rare lung disease, with her loved ones close by Pat peacefully moved to be with her Lord and Savior. She will be so very deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Pat was born on December 24, 1939 to William and Valera Cochran the youngest of their three daughters, living all 80 years of her life in Port Angeles, WA. At the tender age of 9 when she was being pulled around in the wagon of James Rodocker, little did she know that he would become the love of her life. They were married on August 4, 1956 and shortly thereafter they would trade that wagon in for a station wagon to hold the 5 children that would follow. Once the grandchildren started arriving she went from either being called Pat, Patty Anne, or mom to being called Nana by nearly everyone in her life.

Nana was an amazing cook and once all five of her children entered school, she went to work as a cook to help support their family. The job she loved the most was when she went to work for Head-Start as the cook. There she would spend the next 30+ years of her life feeding her "kids" until her retirement. Even in the years to follow she continued to tell stories of her years as "Pat the Cooker". She continued her passion of cooking and baking, especially her decorated cakes that she made for her family.

Nana loved crocheting, gardening and most of all decorating for the holidays; her house could be seen from miles away. And every year, without fail, she would make pumpkin shaped sugar cookies for each of her grandchildren for Halloween. Closely following was her love for baseball and football…namely the Mariners and Seahawks. During the football season she was rarely seen without being adorned in her Seahawk gear. Nana also loved to watch her great grandchildren's baseball games.

Nana's greatest joy in her life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom she passed on her wisdom, love, courage, strength, and admiration for life, which she lived to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her five children- Ronald (Kima), Tammy (Doyle), James (Loriann), Michael, and Peggy (Steve), her 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her cherished Boston Terriers. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James, both her parents, her two sisters, a granddaughter, and a great-grandson.

She is now dancing once again with her love in heaven. In lieu of flowers, Nana would like donations to be made to the American Lung and/or American Heart Associations. The celebration of life will be held at the Light House Christian Center in Port Angeles, on August 28th, at 1pm.
