Ron was born on April 14, 1964 to Elizabeth and Donald Schlemmer. He passed away on January 3, 2023 from natural causes.

He attended Hamilton Elementary, Stevens Junior High and graduated from Port Angeles High School with the class of 1982. Following graduation, he was employed by I.T.T. Rayonier until the mill closure in 1997. He then took a job working for Boeing in Everett before attending barber school in 1999 at Bates Technical Institute. Upon his return to Port Angeles, he purchased Laurel Barber Shop which he operated until the time of his death.

Ron was a standout fast pitch pitcher, competing for many years in the highly competitive Stuffy McGinnes League in Victoria, Canada. He helped lead the Port Angeles fast pitch team to five state titles and three appearances at the national championships.

Always with a smile on his face and quick wit, he will truly be missed by his friends and family and by the downtown community. He enjoyed spending time with family, camping and sharing a joke or two with his buddies.

The family would like to thank the hundreds of dedicated clients throughout the years, as well as the staff at Crestwood Health and Rehabilitation and Olympic Medical Center for the care and compassion shown to Ron during his recent illness.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Ken. He is survived by step-son Travis Showers, sisters Theresa Schlemmer, Pat (Tom) Shandrow, brothers Gary (Penny) Koleber, Rick (Kim) Melvin, and Doug (Donna) Melvin and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for early Spring and will be announced later. Memorial Contributions may be made to North Olympic Baseball and Softball in his name.

Drennan & Ford Funeral Home in Port Angeles is entrusted with his arrangements. Please sign the online guestbook for his family at www.drennanford.com .
