Obituary

Sheryl Wills was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She passed away suddenly of a heart aneurysm at age 76 on Wednesday August 21st at the Olympic Medical Center.

Sheryl was born to Helen and Leonard Pumphrey on February 9th, 1948, in Oso, Washington where she grew up with 10 siblings and never a dull moment. She was known in the neighborhood for her exceptional spelling, perfect hair, and fierce tetherball play.

Upon high school graduation Sheryl took on the great adventure of moving to Seattle and working at a phone company. She met her husband Douglas Wills in April of 1968, which was love at first dance, to an Elvis song no doubt. They were married a year later in April of 1969 and became partners in life and business for over 55 years.

Sheryl and Doug lived in Marysville, Washington for 10 years while Sheryl loved driving her orange 1970 Mustang Mach 1 with black racing strips to work at Boeing. Sheryl's love expanded when she gave birth to a charismatic boy named Troy in 1974.

The family transitioned to Port Angeles (PA as Sheryl referred to it) in 1979 to continue another adventure, Wills Trucking Company. Sheryl was the ultimate utility partner in the business as she managed the finances, part logistics, scheduling, communications and safety for over 50 years. Outside of work, she was passionate about maintaining a beautiful home and yard with flowers, roosters, solar lights, dragonflies and hearts galore.

Sheryl is deeply missed by her husband Doug, daughter-in-love (that is how Sheryl said it) Sarah Wills, grandchildren Hunter and Houston Wills of Ferndale WA. She also leaves behind sisters Sue Arnold of Arlington, WA, Darlene Thomas of Oso, WA, Dorthy Benoit of Brandon, FL, brothers Marvin Pumphrey of Tonopah AZ, Buck Pumphrey of Stanwood, WA. and dear friend Carol Schneider of Port Angeles, WA. Along with many equally loved nephews and nieces.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her son Troy Wills, brothers Leonard Pumphrey, Ronald Pumphrey, Larry Pumphrey, Tommy Pumphrey all of Arlington, WA, Arlie Pumphrey of Lynnwood, WA and sister Dixie Jean.
