Terrance Lynn
Konopaski
May 30, 1940 — Nov 13, 2024
Terrance Lynn Konopaski was born on May 30, 1940, to Raleigh and Joy (Robb) Konopaski and passed away on November 13, 2024, at the age of 84, in Port Angeles, Washington. He was raised in Port Angeles, attended Queen of Angels School and was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He attended St. Martin's High School before enrolling in the US Air Force where he served as a mechanic for B-52 airplanes in the 1960s.
While stationed in Montana at the Glasgow Air Force Base, Terry met Colleen Bjorgo. They were married on May 5, 1962, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Glasgow. They shared four children.
After his time in the service, Terry worked for Fossum Ready Mix in Glasgow and built the family home there.
In 1980, the family relocated to Port Angeles. He worked as a heavy machinery mechanic and operator until his retirement. Terry's spare time mostly involved helping friends and family with repairs on all manner of machines. He could often be found in his shop, working on anything from backhoes to weed eaters, to his favorite past time of putting together jigsaw puzzles. He enjoyed woodworking projects, where he created many things like teeter totters for the kids and decorations for the county fair. He was known as the guy that could fix almost anything. He especially enjoyed when friends, grandkids or other family would "stop by the shop" to share a beverage and a nice visit. In his final days, he still managed to bring a smile to the faces of his loved ones as he continued to "mechanic" from his bed right up to his final hours.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Joy; his twin brother, Larry Konopaski; his son, Donnie Konopaski; and his granddaughter, Cassie (Konopaski) Beaudry.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen, his children, Danny Konopaski (Connie), Daren Konopaski (Maureen) and Karen Konopaski Anderson (Steve). He's also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as by his brothers, Reggie Konopaski of Longview, WA and Kim Konopaski (Cheryl) of Arizona and his sister, Sheri Konopaski Bedford of Port Angeles. Several cousins also survive him.
All are invited to attend his graveside funeral that will be held at Ocean View Cemetery on Thursday, November 21st beginning at 11:00am. There will be a reception following the service at Fairview Grange. Casual dress is welcome.
