Cruises took them to the Panama Canal, the Mediterranean, Alaska, and the Caribbean. They were greatly involved in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, serving in many capacities. They were long-time members of the First Presbyterian Church. They were active socially with many friends, especially a group of high school classmates with whom they kept in touch. Bill was part of the group of high school athletes inducted into the Port Angeles High School Hall of Fame in 2023. Nancy was crowned Miss Port Angeles and Clallam County Fair Queen in 1957.
